JUVENILE OFFENDERS.
BOYS SENTENCED TO A BIRCHING. (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND. April 1. , Air. Kettle, S.M., in giving a reserved judgment to-day in the case of two boys, who had broken into and. damaged three motor yachts, said lie regretted having to order a whipping for the first time, but juvenile crime was becoming so frequent that vigorous steps must he taken. JThhigs were going so far with the young people in the Dominion that unless the Courts resorted to some drastic methods, juvenile crime would become alarmingly common. . He sentenced both boys- to 12 strokes with the birch, to be'clelivered by a constable.
