FIRE ON STEAMER.
CARGO AND PASSENGERS’ EFFECTS DAMAGED. United Press Association—Copyright FREMANTLE, April 1. On the arrival of the steamer Mongolia it was found that the fire. reported bv cable was more serious than indicated. The lire occurred in No. 5 hold. It was got under control after 1 six hours, and subdued after reaching Marseilles. Much damage was done to the cargo and passengers’ belongings.
