DECREPIT HORSES.
A WELLINGTON INDICTMENT. (Per Press Association.) ' WELLINGTON, April 1. Inspector Seed, of the Society for the'Prevention 0 f Cruelty to Animals, oavs the number of decrepit horses in work in Wellington are a disgrace to "'•fie citv. During the last three ffloiiJjK he"has had sixteen of these amYHils taken off the streets and" ■ destroyed. Mr. Seed furtlier stated that, as yet, he had only dealt with tlm worst cases. He also mentioned that because a horse is not lame wlicn it has a bruised knee drivers assume that the animal is not in pain. Coiiscquentlv, it is worked as .usual, and is thus caused much suffering.
