In the debate on the second reading of the -Religious Instruction Referendum Bill, Sir. lviclston said if it was ,i question of teaching religion in Stato schools, ho would voto against tho .Bill, but as it was simply a measure to allow electors to decide, ho would support it. He did not think it was the duty of the Stato to give religious instruction.
