RATING ON UNIMPROVED VALUE.
DISCONTINUED AT A DUNEDIN SUBURB. Press Association. ■DUNEDIN, March 30. -A poll was taken in North-East Valley to-day on a proposal to discontinue the system of rating on unimproved values, and. to revert to rating on capital values. There were 1514 voters on the roll, but only* little more than one-third of that number exercised the privilege. The result- of the, poll wqs that 354 votes were cast against rating on unimproved values and ISS for it. The .borough will therefore revert to the capital value system.
