Tho first day of the South Auckland Racing Club’s meeting was held in threatening weather. The course was heavy owing to the late rains. The following are the results:— Trial Handicap.—Tui Tua 1, Kitua 2, Nulla Nulla 3. Won by a length. Time, lmin 36^sec. Hurdles.—Kapakapa 1, Tui 2, Hill Flower 3. Scratched: Pukekohe. Won by a head after a magnificent finish. Time, 3min 4sec. Cup.—Lady Huno 1, Syren 2, Certainty 3. All started. Montigo and Lord Seaton were left at the post.
