UNIONISTS VICTORIOUS.
excitement in the house United Press Association—Copyright LONDON, March 25. Tho bye-election for Peekham division of Camberwell, rendered necessary by the death of Mr Goddard Clarke, caused tho greatest excitement shown for many years. The result was: Gotcli. (Unionst Tariffite) 4970, Gautrey (Liberal) 4470. "While Mr George Goulding’s financial reform resolution in connection with unemployment was being put, nows of tho Peekham result was received, and raised roar alter roar ot cheers from the Unionist benches. Tho Unionists stood, excitedly w-avnig their hats and handkerchiefs,, and shouting, “ltcsign ! you will be unemployed directly.” The debate was ultimately adjourn. Ct "\t the last- election Mr C. G. Clark (Liberal) Sir F. CL Banbury (Conservative) by 5903 to 3546.
