SUPERANNUATION FUND

When the Superannuation Act was passed all temporary clerks in the Civil Service were placed on a permanent footing, and became subjected to the law, which required them to either join the superannuation fund or insure their lives, ns provided by the Act of 1893. The latter rule does not anpear to have been generally known. A circular was issued tins month drawing attention to it, and insisting on «he law being followed. As this involves deductions from salary the circular has come as an unpleasant surprise to newly-promoted temporally hands.
