DROWNING FATALITY NEAR TINIROTO.

Intimation was received by the police at a late hour last evening that a man named Thomas Rogers had been drowned' in the -Hangaroa River, near Tiniroto. From details to hand it would appear that deceased, in company with Air. Edgar Wallace, slieepfanner. Tiniroto, was crossing the river, which was in a state of flood, when his horse got carried away, and the unfortunate mail was washed off his horse and drowned. The body lias not yet been recovered.
