VISIT TO OPOTIKI.

Press Association. OPOTIKI, March 22. The Premier, Sir Joseph Ward, continued his eastern tour on Saturday, and had a trying day of sixteen hours’ practically continuously travelling. He delivered an address atevery district ho visited, including Matatii, Whakatane, and Opotiki. At the last-named place ho addressed a crowded meeting in the local hall, and reviewed the work of the last Parliamentary session. He also dealt exhaustively ’ with the native land question, and the Government’s action in appointing a Roval Commission for the settlement' of the difficulty.

The Prime Minister rested quietly at Opotiki yesterday, and commenced the return journey at 5 o’clock this morning. Ho will arrive at Rotoruathis evening, and return to Auckland +9-mori'ow’§ express, .
