THE NEWCASTLE STRIKE.
ATTITUDE OF THE MINERS’ FEDERATION.

Tho strike of clippers in Pelaw Main and of wheelers in Back Creek has thrown both pits idle. Strikes are now in progress in four pits, and as a result of the stoppages the sittings of the special Alining Court have been brought to a standstill. Tho Aimers’ Federation has decided to adopt more stern methods in dealing with these hasty, ill-advised strikes on the part of various sections of colliery workers, and adopted a resolution calliug on strikers to resume work immediately. Failing this, they will bo expelled. The Federation is also calling on the lodges concerned to use every effort- to keep the respective pits going. Tho reso-lut-WTradds: “AYo think the time lias arrived when each lodge should realise its responsibility and force its members to 'keep within the constitution of the Federation.’’
