ELECTION OF OFFICERS. Press Association. AUCKLAND, this day. The AVomen’s Christian Temperance Union passed a resolution that the motions passed by the -t/wo loo'll unions on Hie management of To Oranga Homo were lin no way intended to reflect upon t'ho present •Miinistor of Education, as tlio system was in existence when he caino into office. They also passed resolutions urging tlio raising of tlio ago of protection of girls to 21 years; protesting against the repeal! of tho C.D. Act, and that hospital accommodation should he provided for venereal diseases; deploring the spirit of militarism inculcated in tilio young; that tho disabilities of women sitting in the Legislature should bo removed: tlia't popularly-elected Boards should control lall public institutions for the caro of nun, women, and children, and provision be made for the care of those irresponsibly deficient ill sexual control!: that the .time limit in respect to offences against girls should he abolished; that legal inequalities on illegitimates should be removed; that the restrictions on women’s time and labor contained in tho Factory Acts aro prejudicial to economic interests, and all sex distinctions enforced in Acts should be abolished; also, a resolution expressing regret at the acceptance by athletic associations of prizes presented' 'by licensed victuallers. Officers were ejected as follows:—President, Airs. 'Cole; corresponding secretary, Miss AA’chb; treasurer. Miss McCarthy; vice-pre-sident at large, Mrs. Atkinson.
