Tho firo-n----r ago'is 1132 foot, by a doptli of ld-1 ft. •'ho main ihall will have a. ''clear space of 12600 squaro .foot, providing ainpilo room 'to seat 2500 persons. Tho floor will bo laid down .in picked wood, and will bo suitable for drill pur.posqs, dancing or skating. This ball will be under one roof (Micro being no pillar supports) which will be supported on eliminated -a polios, .at a -height of about 50ft. At the far end Micro will be ii pfosconium stage, suitable for concerts or dramatic entertainments. A largo supper room, tho lloor of which will be raised two feet .above tho ball floor, will be built at Mm rear. This room will be SOft by 18ft., and will seat 220 persons in comfort while at tho t ables. Seven smaller rooms will be built on cither side of tho main balls. These are for tho use of officers and iiiyn, tho s tor ago of arms and accoutrements, or could be used, when Mio ball is hired, for cloak, card, retiring, or refreshment rooms. -Tho hall will bo well lighted and ventilated. Nino windows, cap iblo of being opened, will be placed' on either side; six large arched windows will bo in front, and a large six panelled window in tho rear, while four largo windows will light the supper room, besides these, the hall will ho ventilated by a special system from under the lloor. The main entranco, which willl bo fitted with folding doors and circularated fan light, will onen to a width of ten feet, while.there will.ho four lire escapes eliciting to a width of six feet. The building is of Doric design, tlio front being ornamented by eight bold looking pillasfers supporting a pediment union which tho Royal Coat of Arms and tho name of Mio building will stand out in bold relief. Tho structure will be erected in wood on concrete foundations, nothin o- but the best material being used? The walls will bo lined, and I,ho coiling covered with dressed Tho contract price for tlio whole 'of the work was £4125. The plans were drawn by Mr it J. Halson (senior) arcliitcot of Cxisboino, and tlio building will be erected under his supervision.
