BILLIARDS.

At, the Victoria Billiard Saloon last night there was another large attendance, when the competition tor the championship of Gisborne was continued. The contestants were L. AfeGonigal and AT. Johns. Tho former got away at the commencement, but his opponent, playing a good solid game, gradually overhauled him, and at the end of ‘the first hundred the players were running level. Shortly after this, AfeGonigal made a nice break of 35, and established a strong lead, but Johns was not to be denied, and by consistent play considerably lessened the gap. until finally the score stood at 24S all, and Johns, being the first to score, won by tho narrow margin of two points. The game occupied SO minutes. To-night the competition will be continued, when B. Lucas and J. Nugent- try conclusions at 7.30.
