BILLIARDS.
There was a largo crowd at the Victoria- fttloon last night, when L. McGonigal met Win. Forrest m the competition for the championship ol Gisborne. The game was interesting throughout, and took an hour to complete. Forrest assumed the lead from the start, and was oO ahead of his opponent at the end ot the first hundred. Thenceforward McGonigal gradually drew up, and the contestants drew level at 204 all, McGonigal finally running out when Forrest was <235 To-night E. Austin meets R. Kay, and a good game can be confidently promised.
