A general meeting of the Holy Trinity Ladies Guild will bo held in the church school-room to-morrow evening. The Gisborne City Band will render a programme of music from the recreation ground rotunda to-morrow evening at 8 p.m., and will be at tbo hospital on Sunday at 3 p.m. There was a good attendance at tho Baptist Tabernacle last night, when the Bov. W. Lamb delivered an interesting address on “Tho Second Coming of the Lord.” This was tho first of a series of addresses on the same subject which are to be given weekly. “So this is Gisborne,” muttered a visitor who arrived by launch from the Wimmora in tho early hours of this morning. As he peered into the gloom and sought to recover his 'baggage. from a confused heap, he added •• “Well, I don’t think much of it. It seems to me a good place to, keep away from.”

Last night tho water supply was turned on, a fact that was greatly appreciated by residents who have not a tank supply, for it had not been available since Saturday night. ■lt has- been suggested that considerable inconvenience could be saved to many householders if the contractors would acquaint the public with their intentions whenever possible in regard to the cutting-off of tho supply.
