Mr. J. W. Cook returned bv the < Waikaro yesterday from Auckland and the Bay of Plenty. Mrs. Cook went on to Napier. A Press Association telegram from Dunedin states that Constable Dandy who has been stationed there .for the past IS months, has received notice of his transfer to Gislkn'ne. Messrs MacDonald, Wilson and Co. the well-known Wellington auctioneers, have dissolved partnership. The Hon. 1. Kennedy MacDonald, M.L.C., the senior partner, who has been actively associated with the firm for the h‘ lst thirty-five years, has purchased Mr. Wilson s interest, and the business will in future be carried on in the name of T. Kennedy MacDonald, Ltd,
