' The following is tho Loan and Alore.uitile Company's report on their slock sale held at Matawliero on Thursday sth iust.: The attendance was about up to the average, and although tho yardings of sheep were very heavy, the largest portion found buyers under fair competition. SHEEP. Our yardiugs comprised 10/280, of which wo sold 8,808, the unsold portion comprising lambs in tho wool and weatilers. I'or the latter class of stock the demand Wan slack. Ewes sold fairly well at good values and it was noticeable that alter the heavy valuing was got through there was an unsatisfied demand for serviceable lines of breeding owes. Our sales comprised 3,002 5-yoar-old Ngatapa ewes at 12s Oil. Other good lines of •L and 5-year-old owes made 10s to 12s. Cull ewes in very low condition made from 2s Od to ss, bettor lines from 0s to 9s according to ago and condition, ewes in forward condition 8s 9d to 9s, fat owes 11s, 2tooth wethers 11s G<l, cull wethers 7s 3d, wethers in forward condition 13s Oil, shorn lambs culls 3s, bettor grown sorts 5s 3d, lambs in wool culls Os, well-grown, good lambs Ss to 9Si_ Wo sold Bordov-Leicestor -1tootlis ITt 31- guineas and cull rams 21s to -10 s. CATTLE. The cattle entry was not reached until the heavy rains made soiling practically impossible. Wo _ 'have therefore no quotations to offer tor cattle.
Attention is drawn to our sale at Air. Con. Noonan’s, Ormond, on Tuesday, 10th instant. In addition to the ordinary Matawliero fixtures, it will be noticed that in conjunction with Williams and Kettle wo conduct a clearing sale of Air. Clark’s To Aral stock and plant—cattle at tlio Matawliero saloynrds on Friday, 27th, and sheep, horses', and plant at the lo Arai homestead on Tuesday, 31st iust. Wo also notify our sale of Mr. Melldowie’s choice Pouawa property on Saturday, 28th March. THE AVOOL SALES. Press Association. DUNEDIN, March 3. The fourth wool sale was held yesterday, when 1763 bales wore offered. The ateiulanco of buyers was not so laro-e as on tho occasion of tho previous silo. Competition foi medium merino and inferior crossbred wools was keener than at last sale, but for ,v o od and medium half-breds lato rates were not maintained.
