AIATAAYHERO STOCK iSALE,
At the weekly stock sale held at Matawhero yesterday, there was a fair attendance. The total entiy ot sheep was 35,700, and a large number of cattle were yarded. The market was easier all round, competition being less keen than at the previous sale. Ewes lielcl their own, but* there was a drop in wethers and lambs. The sale of cattle was very dragging. OTEKAIKE CLEARING SALE. Press Association. OAMARTJ March, 5. The Otekaiko clearing sale was continued yesterday, when the ordinaly station sheep maintained the good prices of the previous day, hue rams wero a drug on tlio market. Merino Tams, the progeny of rams bought from Gibson and other Tasmanian breeders, brought only from la to o guineas. Tho sheep offered yesterday woro largely station lambs, which brought, for half-bred ewe lambs from 13s to 13s 6d, and wetlior lambs from 10s to l'ls. Tho station wethers brought up to 12s 7d for 2-tooth, and from 11s 7d to 13s 4d for others according to age. The sale has been a -very successful one, due to the plenteous fall of rain.
