CHRISTCHURCH MOTOR ACCIDENT

INQUEST ON MR. MERRETT. Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, March 5. The inquest concerning the death of Mr. S. R. Merrett, who was fatally •injured in a motor ear accident at Addington on February 22, was conducted by Mr. H. W. Bishop, District Coroner, to-night. After 40 minutes’ retirement the jury returned a verdict that S. R. Merrett met his death by a motor-car accident, no blame in their opinion boing attachable to anyone, and that Dr. Diamond did liis best in the circumstances. The jury added a rider to the effect that all motorists -did not observo tlie speed regulations, and in their opinion were not checked sufficiently bv the authorities.
