'the Union S.S. Co’s Waikare arrives from Napier this morning and leaves later for Auckland. The Tuatea leaves the wharf at 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. the following have booked passages for Auckland Air and Airs Sainsbury, Mr and Airs Brown, Ali-s and Alis.s Alartvn, Alisses Lines, Betteridge, I’auslev, Bagnell, Griffiths, AVheaton, Jerram, N. The Tuatea leaves the wharf with outward passengers about S p.m. The Union Co’s Squall left for Auckland yesterday with a full load of sheep.
The scow Rambler arrived yesterday morning from Mercury Bay with 64,000 feet of timber for Alessrs' Evans Neild and Co. She left her loading port on Sunday morning, and had fair winds throughout- the trip. Alessrs Richardson and Co’s Fanny returned yesterday evening from Whangaroa with a full load of posts. These will be discharged to-day, and the vessel is expected to leave about non for Napier via Wliangawehi. On Monday the ecow Rambler sighted the schooners Awanui and Gisborne on the Coast.
The Union S.S. Co.’s Haupiri arrives from Coast ports to-day with wool for transhipment to the Nerehana, and on discharge she leaves or Auckland via Coast ports. the Union S.S. Co’s Tuatea proceeded to Paknrae yesterday morning, returning in the evening with wool for transhipment to the Ncrehana. The T yser liner Ncrehana is expected to complete loading to-night, when she sails for Napier. The N.Z.S. Co’s chartered steamer Crown of Galicia arrived in London on Monday in time for the- Alarch sales.
A Press Association telegram from Dunedin states that the Union Company has been advised that the new cargo steamer Waitemata has been successfully launched. The Aliowera is to bo renamed the Afaitai, and on account of the arrangements made for the transfer of the Alarama and Manuka to tho Vancouver service during the winter, she will also be placed in the intercolonial service until the arrival of the Afakura, now building on the Clyde. The Aliowera is being surveyed at Sydney, and her accommodation altered to suit the special requirements of the intercolonial trade.
