Press Association.' DANNEVIRKE, Feb. 28. Ihe district meeting of Foresters was held in Dannevirke to-day. Delegates were present from all lodges ill tho district. One of the principal motions passed was to the effect that tlio delegates here assembled call upon the Friendly Societies’ Council lo urge tins Government to cause a thorough investigation to be made into tlio financial standing of fraternal societies before passing. any fresh legislation, suck enquiry to embrace an examination of tlie payments, cost of management, and investment of iunds, the possibility of the Orders paying all their claims, and to find ei't the lowest safe minimum rate which ought to lie paid for the benents promised. This evening tho visiting delegates were entertained at a smoke concert, at which a very large number were present, the Mayor presiding.
