AUCKLAND, Feb. 12. At the Supreme Court to-day, Ermond AA'illiam Lewis AVard was convicted on several charges of false pretences and theft, and was sentenced to two years. Three lads, James Patterson, Alfred Irwin, and James Newald were charged with assaulting three girls, aged from 10 to 14 years. Tho hearing of this case occupied till 11.15 p.m., when the jury retired tx> consider their verdict.
