POVERTY BAY RACES
THE ALTERATION OF TIMETABLE.
Atteid ion is drawn to an alteration in the r lie at which tho trains return from tho racecourse. Trains leavo town at noon and 1 p.m. and return at 5.50 p.m. for both town taaid country. Tho alteration has been made with a view to giving moro time after the last race.
The courso is in very good order, considering the dry weather experienced, ami good racing should be tho order of the day. The secretary, Mr. D. R. De Costa, is busily engaged in completing details, and everything is in readiness for the opening to-morrow.
TOLAGA BAY NOMINATIONS. Tho following nominations have been received by Mr W. E. Holder, secretary to the Tolaga Bay Jockey Club, for the first day’s races of the annual meeting to be held on the club’s course on March 13th and 14th:
First Handicap Hurdles: Bullworth, To Rahiii, Melton Hall, To Uke, Airiki, Earmark, and Spunyarn.
Flying Handicap : AYainiaori, Mara ugai, Ortolan, Stylish, Awanui, Mura Alii, Martyr King, Soultito, Pearl Reef, Hinetitimata Alungomo-t-io, Pluck, Cantata, Lady Crispin. District Race: Mahurangi, AV'ainiaori, Motokoo, Awanui, b 1 by Sim Remo, Minervc, Tukapa-. Toronto. U'iwa Stakes: Doucho, Melton Hall, Prince Hassan, Sarilla, Ladylike, Paisano, Hinetitimata. Second Handicap Hurdles: Bullworth, To Rahiii, Melton Hall, Airiki, Toronto, Earmark, Spnnyarn. Hauiti Handicap: Mahurangi, Waimaori, -Motokoo, Torona., Awanui, b f by San Romo, Tukapa, Toronto, Hinemanhira. Tolaga Bay Jockey Club’s Handicap : AVaimaori, Douche, Awanui, Prince Huesan, Sarilla, Ladylike, Paisano. Hinetitimata. President’s Handicap: Alarangai, Oritoman, Stylish, Awanui, Martyr King, Cheddite, Pearl Reef, Hmetrtitnata, Pluck, and Cantata. Arrangements are now well in hand for the meeting, which promises to be -a most- successful one. The grounds are in fair order, although a bit dry. Accommodation at lolaga, however, will be the worst drawback, owing to the destruction of the hotel, but- temporary accommodation will be provided for tfie occasion.
