Dr. Wi Repa, the .recently-appoint-ed surgeon at the hospital, arrives to-dav to take up his duties. The Rev. H. N Wright leaves this afternoon for Christchurch. The Rev. Father Dignan returns from Auckland to-day, after (having attended a conference of Catholic priests, and spending a fortnight s •holiday in To Aroha. Mr. H, J. Blow, Under-Secrctarv for Public Works, was expected to arrive this morning on business mainly collected with the extension of the railway from Pulia, but Mr. C. E. Armstrong, local engineer to the Public Works Department, lias been advised that the visit has been postponed. ' „ Messrs W. Morgan and G. E. Dartoli return this morning from Napier, after attending the meeting of the Hawke’s Bay Education Board. Inspector McDonnell, in charge of the Hawke’s Bay police district, arrives from South this morning.
