PERSONAL.
Messrs G. Darton and W. Morgan left last night to attend the annual sitting of the Hawke’s Bay Education Board at Napier. Mr. Shierlaw, father of Mr. G.G. Shierlaw, of Gisborne left on Saturday en route for Adelaide after spending a short holiday in Gisborne. Judge Sim, of the Native Land Court, arrved from South on Saturday, and leaves for Tuparoa to-mor-row to open a sttng of tho Court there on the 13th inst. He will immediately adjourn to Te Araroa to commence the investigation of title to the large blocks of “papatipu” land in the district. Mr. Dustin, father of Mr. D. E Dustin, left for South last night, after a short business visit to Gisborne.
Mr. C. Murray, of the Union Bank of Australia, Sydney, has been appointed to replace Mr. C. McKinnon at the local branch. The friends of Mr. AV. Hackett, who has been ill in the hospital for some time, will be glad to learn that his condition lias much improved, and yesterday he was able to see a few friends.
