WHAT Hit INK IS DOING IN POVERTY BAY.
(To the Editor.) Sir. —111 your impression of 'Monday last a letter appeared under the nom dc plume of “Citizen” which although many ridicule or think not worth replying to, should hardly bo allowed to pass unnoticed. “Citizen” takes strong exception to “C. P.’s” article in your paper in which the number of cases of drunkenness and tho great increase of_ prohibition orders are reviewed. Now, sir, it may be that “citizen” is an interested party and feels tho sting of- the plain statement of facts made by C. P. If so I would advise him to get out of a business which demoralizes so many other “citizens”, or if bo is still inclined to find fault, lot him do so with the traffic which is causing so much sorrow and Buffering, and blighting bo many bright and otherwise hopeful lives. I would invite “citizen” to loin with “C. IV and myself in an endeavor to rid this lino district of a traffic which has and is still ruining many of earth’s noblest sous. I am, etc., .
