PERSONAL.

On Wednesday evening members of the H.A.C.13.5. met at the Lodgeroom to bid farewell to Mr. Arthur Knowsley, 'of the local railway staff, who has 'been transferred to Cross Creek, Mr. Knowsley having been a prominent member of the Hibernian Society while in Gisborne. The President, Mr. H. J. Alley, spoke in flattering terms of Mr. Ivnowsley’s god qualities, both as a member of the society and as a citizen, and said that ho felt sure that wherever ho went he would be as popular as lie had been in Gisborne. He presented Mr, Knowsley, on behalf of the society’ with a walking stick, suitably inscribed. The President was supported by Messrs V. Peterson, F. Haughey, J. Linekam, M. O’Halloran and M. Segedin. Mr. Knowsley suitably responded, thanking the society for’ their gilt, and expressing regret at having to leave so many good friends. Mr. Knowsley left for South by the Mokoia in the evening.
