THE AUSTRALASIAN CHAMPION SHIPS. Press Association. WELLINGTON, Feb. 4. A meeting of the Wellington Centre of the Amateur Athletic Association was hold to-night, when the question of Kerr's walking was considered. It was stated that Kerr had never wilfully broken the rules, which lie was now quickly learning, and that he was a fair walker. The meeting decided to send Kerr with the New Zealand team to tlio championship meeting at Hobart. £2O was subscribed in the room, and £SO more was promised if it was needed. The Centre resolved to recommend the council to remove the headquarters of the Association to Wellington.

CRICKET ASSOCIATION. Tho usual weekly meeting of tho Poverty Bay Cricket Association was held in tlio British Empire Hotel last evening, Mr. H. E. Maude prosiding. The lion. secretary, Mr. I. G. Grinlintou, reported that it would be impossible to bold the concert on tlio dato originally fixed upon, February 13tli, owing to His Majesty’s Theatre having been engaged for the two race nights. After discussion, it was deckled to hold the entertainment on Thursday, March ot.li. A sub-committee, consisting of Messrs Grinlinton, Maude, J. Lang, Olsen, Knight, and W. Gibson, were appointed to arrange for tho visit of an Association eleven to Motu on February 22nd. Some discussion took place on the advisability of postponing tho Thursday matches on account of tho races. On a vote being taken, it decided that the matches should bo gone on with, To Ran playing C.S. and Co. on Thursday next at Victoria Domain. After the ordinary business hail been concluded, a meeting of tho concert committee was held It was reported that arrangements for tho concert were well forward, and that the tickets were going off well.
