THE PRIZE LIST; A Tress Association. ~ FEILDING, February 4. Ilio Loading Show opened to-day m lino weather. There was a good attend.moo, but tho exhibits of live stock wore not so good as last year, owing to the bad season. The Maidou Hunters Competition was won by AJr Strawbridge's Carpenter, with Mr bausons Alona second, and Alias Whittaker’s pony third Mare and Foal: first prize, Mr Sanson’s Nancy, which also took a prize for the mare most suitable for breeding hacks. Air John Bull took tho. prizo for the best pair of harness horses, and Air F. H. Usmar with KaJulu, the first for the maro most suitable for breeding carriage horses. In agriculture the first prizes wore [secured by Iloult and Sons, Bennett [Bros., and G. Perry. In dairy cattle, W. P. Hare secured first for dairy cow, any breed, and [ the prizes for heifers were taken by | S. It. Lancaster, S. Standen, and C. |C. Bonsomann. In pedigree cattle, 13. Short got first for Hereford, cow and heifer, and G. Wheeler first for | a bull. In Ayrshires, prizes were
taken by S. Lancaster, •S. Standen, 0. C. Bonsomann, Percy, S. R. Lancaster, and C. liermer obtained first for heifers and cow, and Airs. M. A. Kirton first for bull. In fat cattle E. Short and W. Alills divided the first prize. In fat sheep W. Reid, K. Dalrymple, F. Alcßao, and E. Short were the most successful exhibitors. In fat lambs, A. Fitzherbert, J. Power, F. Alcßae, C. Atillen, A. Reid, and J .tonight divided tho prizes, and Knight took the gold medal for two fat lambs most suitable for freezing. In the farmers’ classes the Romney prizes were divided between W. G. Pearce, J. Knight, W. E. Baker, Koberstein, and W. G. Aitken, while
for Lincolns J. W. Bradey took most of the prizes. In pure-bred sheep Al. Moss, Wellington, Pearce, J. Knight, and L\ Kensington took firsts for Romneys. W. Gadsby took four firsts for Lincolns. F. Neilscns and Black Bros, obtained firsts for Border Leicesters, .and S. R Lancaster got five firsts for English Leicesters. Larreaster,Short, and Knight got firsts for Southdowns. ,
For pigs, IT. Webster took first for the pig most suitable for factory bacon, while Black Bros., E. White, and E. C. Bcnsemann divided the firsts for pure-breds. In butter for export, the Rangitikei Dairy Company, with 103 [joints, were first, Awaliuri Dairy Co., 93, second, and Cheltenham Dairy Co., 92 points, third.
