MISHAP AT SEA.

THE S.S. MAORI LOSES A PROPELLER, Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 4. An accident occurred to the turbine steamer Maori, on her trip down from Wellington to Lyttelton lastnight, At 2.30 a.ill. it was discovered that something had gone wrong with the centre of the propeller, which necessitated tho stopping of the centre engine. The vessel was brought on with the remaining propellors, and did not reach Lyttelton until 7.40 a.m. A diver went down, made examination, and found that one of tlie propeller blades bad been lost. The vessel will leave for Wellington to-night, and on returning on Thursday morning she will bo docked to have a new propeller fitted. Advantage will also be taken of her being in dock to clean and paint her hull. She will resume her run on Saturday.
