AN IMPORTANT DECISION. Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 4. . At the Magistrate’s Court- this morning, Mr. H. W. Bishop, S.M., gave his reserved judgment in the case of the Inspector of Factories against the local manager of the N.Z. Shipping Company. The question was whether the company’s Lyttelton store, in which dumping and packing was carried oil, should bo registered as a factory. The contention of the prosecution was that if packing for transit was done by mechanical nower in the building, the place should be registered as a factory. The magistrate decided against this, and dismissed the case.
