THE WAIROA RIVER.
NAVIGATION IN THE UPPER REACHES. Press Association. WAIROA. Feb. 4. Mr. D. N. AlcAlillan, the District Roads Engineer, and Air. Horne, of the Roads Department, are exploring the upper reaches of the AYairoa River to ascertain the possibility of snaggiug and blasting in the rapids, to allow small craft to run to the Te Reiuga Falls. If this is practicable a great bearing on the future of AVairoa aud the Ruakituri district, where large areas are soon to be opened up.
