J ,! 1 ™ tlu l flagship Powerful left ©Hingtou for Sydney on •Friday, it had been •arranged to endeavor to connect New Zealand and Australia by wireless telegraph, messages being despatched from the Pioneer in port, in Wellington to the Powerful in nud-ocean, thence to the Cambrian outside Sydney Heads, and on to the Psyche in Port Jackson. Sir Joseph Yard to-day sent a message by this route to the Hon. A. DeaiUl" Ao reply has yet been received.
