POLLARD’S OPERA COMPANY
liefer ring to the first production of tlio “Isle of Bong Bong ’ in N.Z., a Wellington paper s i,vs : —"Tile Opera House was filled to its utmost_capacitv on Saturday evening, when Bollard's Opera Company produced for the first time in this part of tho glolje another example of American musical comedy, entitled ‘The Isle of Bong Bong.’ "The book is quite up to the average English musical comedy, and the humor is of the drollest order, and there is a certain, verve and prettiness about the music which carries the audience with it, while the gorgeous setting is. something quite exceptional, showing clearly that it is Ilr. Bollard’s intention to set a standard in connection with his productions higher than any other management in the Dominion.” The “Isle of Bong Bong” will be produced on Wednesday and Thursday, and on Friday “Bluebell in Fairyland” will be presented, while on Saturday, the last night of the season, “His Highness the 'Bey” will be the attraction. The three productions will he under The sole direction of Mr. Tom Pollard, and presented with that attention to detail which has always characterised his work and gained him a reputation second to none. In spite of the enormous-expense of touring such a big company and producing the operas on a scale of magnificence hitherto unattompted in the Dominion, Mr. Pollard has decided to keep his prices of admission within the reach of everybody, and will only charge the popular prices already advertised,
