NELSON DECLARES FOR SATUR-

DAY.

NELSON, Jan. 30. At a special meeting of the City Council to-night, to consider the question of fixing the half-holiday, deputations were present favoring AVednesday and Saturday, and were supported by a very large gathering of townspeople. After a heated debate, the Council resolved in favor of Saturday, which will therefore bo the statutory closing day for the next fifteen months, when ratepayers will vote on the question at the municipal elections. The proceedings were lively throughout, and at times the crowd in the auditorium was very disorderly.
