CARGO BROACHING.
THE OFFENDERS CAPTURED. Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Jan. 28. A very serious case of cargo broaching was brought to light at Lyttelton yesterday, ancl t-ho prompt action of the police and the Customs officials resulted' in the arrest of seven .firemen belonging to the steamer Papanui, on a charge of stealing from cases in the steamer’s hold a largo quantity of goods, valued at over £6O. The men appeared before the (Magistrate's Court to-day, amj were 'remanded till February oth.
