Mr. J. Georgeson, recently Insp. ctor of Factories in Gisborne, aimed from South on Saturday, having completed his tour of inspection of sinners’ accommodation throughout the Dominion. He leaves for Wellington in about a week to take upi a position at the head office of the Labor Department. The condition of Mr. F. W. Griffiths, who is at a pirivate hospital, is causing his friends considerable anxiety.
Mr. Downey, Native schoolmaster at To Araroa, returned from Auckland yesterday, where he had been attending tlio Native Schools Conference.
Yesterday Mr. J. W. Witty arrived home from a holiday visit to Auckland and Rotorua. Air. W. Haekett, who has for some time been in a serious condition, suffering from typhoid fever, is now reported to be showing marked signs of improvement. Air. E. W. Burton left for the South last night on a business visit. Dr. and Airs. Scott returned from Auckland yesterday after their 'honeymoon tri]).
