FIRES REKINDLED
Press Association. CARTERTON, Jan. 22. The fires havo rekindled under the strong wind, and serious results seem imminent. The Mavengatarere stream has dried up, and only pools remain.
A TREMENDOUS FIRE.

CHRISTCHURCH, Jan. 22.
A tremendous fire is raging on Coralynn Estate, Bealey, sweeping the country for miles. The homestead and woolshed were threatened, but were saved by a sadden change of ■wind. The fire is supposed to havo originated by a fire lighted by passengers stuck up at Bealey by the flood ill tlie' Waimakariri last week, and which lias been smouldering since. The details to hand are meagre.
A SAWMILL DESTROYED

INVERCARGILL, Jan. 22 Bush fires are .burning at AVaikawa. It is reported that the Waikawa Sawmilling Co.’s (Dunedin syndicate) mill was burned down vesteiday .morning. No details are availahlo.
