ASHBURTON, Jan. 18. \n inewest was held this afternoon touching tho death of May Glad vs Wiliams, aged 13, who died, on the « in instant while undergoing an operation for enlarged tonsils. • evidence was to the effect that the operation was absolutely necessarv , and that a very, small dose of chloroform hud been lulinmisteml. The operation, was almost perlormed while the patient was only partially under the influence of the anaesthetJr. and that then she suddenly assumed a bad color and collapsed, attempts at resuscitation were continued for an hour and a half but were resultless. Iheiuiy f returned a verdict in accordance tlio medical testimony, adding 9 Xbat they were satisfied that all.pre- '' cautions had been taken.
