THE MINISTER’S ARRIVAL
At four o clock yesterday afternoon, die Mayor and County Chairman proceeded to meet- the visiting Ministers .and they were encountered about two miles beyond the bridge at Alata•vhero The roads were very sloppv and the wheels of tlio coach (a special from Redstone’s) skidded down -he hill from the Junction to Bartlett’s. A lot of rain lias been falling in the hills and the party was drenched. Friendly greetings were exchanged and the conveyances arrived in town at 6.30. The partv was as follows:—The Minster for bands and the Native Minister, Air Dillon, AIP., Dr. Chappie of AYelling:on, and Mr. Broderick. TO-DAY’S ARRANGEAI ENTS, A number of deputations are to wait on the Alinister for Lands this morning, and -aft-er other deputations have been disposed of. one of the utmost importance to the distnet will be that from the East Coast Railway League The president, Mr. J. iownley will speak first and will urge upon the Alinister the urgent necessity for pressing on the railway.
