'the dull state of the mutton market in London is having its effect upon rates and sellers yesterday had to accept lower prices, and even then bidding was so slack that many pens were passed unsold. Under the circumstances values for stores held u • fairly weU and nothing that was at all forward and hud round teeth went begging. Older sorts were a drug and a lino in poor condition went for 4s a-piece. J/ambs were tlie strongest feature of the market and a well grown pen of ra t-.; brought 14s sd. The principal sales were:—Tate: 122 wethers at 13s 10, 57 at 13s 6d, 20 ewes at 11s 6cl, 15 at lls3d, 31 at Os, 51 lambs at 14s sd. CATTLE. About 200 wore yarded with only a. small proportion ol fat sorts. For these bidding was somewhat slow at a shade under lato ra' es. Stores alo met with a dull sale, and it is ■vident that the market is suffering from tho scarcity of feed in the country. .
