ROWING
Tlio final race for the trophies presented by Mr Broad to the P. B. Club for' their sculling competition, was rowed last night on the AVaimata course, McGuffio (Osees.) and Roche (2dsecs) being the contestants. A\ ith his big handicap the latter led for a. time, but- McCfuffie was not to be denied and caught.his man when Dr “Williams’ was reached. From this out Roche was hopelessly beaten and McGuffio won in very hollow fashion. Tho winner has rowed exceptionally well all through the competition and thoroughly deserved his popular victory. A general meeting of the Gisborne Club was held last night at Mr. Dustin’s rooms. There was a tairiy largo attendance of members. After discussion it was resolved that the club send a Maiden and Junior crew and also a lOst crew to the is a pier regatta, to be hold in March. Delegates were appointed to center with the delegates already selected from the Poverty Bay Club with regard to tho holding of a regatta m Gisborne after the Napier regatta.
