The defence in the Thaw..trial will call the prisoner’s wife and many new witnesses, including Antony Comstock, an anti-vico crusader, who is' expected to reveal Thaw s efforts to expose AVhito’s alleged misdoings before Thaw shot him. The defence holies to prove that Thaw was insane at the time of tho tragedy, hut has now recovered.

(Received Jan. 7,10. it) p.m.) LONDON, Jan. 7. Al. AV. Lyttelton announced that the idea of '“Not guilty” had been withdrawn,'and that they now pleadi d that Thaw was insane at the time the deed was committed.
