LAND DEPARTMENT CHANGES
Press Association. WELLINGTON, January G. -Mr. J. Strauehon, Chief Surveyor and Commissioner of Crown Lands in tlie "Wellington district, will be transferred on April Ist to take charge at the Auckland district. His position here will ho filled by Mr. W. MaeKenisVs now of Crown Lands in Auckland. These changes are being made in consequence of the unusual amount of development which will occur in the Auckland district in the near future. This will involve a large amount of survey worlc—a branch in which .Mr. Strauehon is a recognised expert.
