The Government Aichitoet recommended the stoppage of the work being carried on by Mr. Frain, for the reason that the pro, cut site of the innexe would bo ve y close to Svd-nev-street. and if it was subsequently decided to .set hack the building the existing foundations would be useless. The Govornn cut decided to let the matter of the stoppage of the contract stand over until the Premier ascertained that his Excellency die Governor was prepared to hand over Government House lor the next session of Parliament.
