A fire occurred about 11 o’clock last night in a block of buildings in Dee-street, occupied by Neill (herbalist), Phillips (photographer), and Bacon (umbrella-maker). It started in Phillips’s, and though the tire was quicklv got under the studio was gutted. Phillips’s stock was insured for £250, but lie estimates his loss at £llO above this. Bacon’s stock was damaged by water. Neill escaped almost scatheless. The building wis one of the few wooden ones left in the brick area. The fire was caused by ashos from a fire in Phillips’s living room being blown out of the grate bv a gale, which prevailed while .Phillips was out. The number of delegates attending the conference, which has lasted several days, is 59. of whom 36 were ladies.
