He stated that he was suffering from Bright’s disease: The Court appointed doctors, who reported that lie was desperately ill, whereupon bail was fixed at 5000 dollars, and he was remanded to January 7th. The bail was furnished. Tho nows of the issue of a warrant for the arrest of Caldwell was received by wireless telegraph aboard the Kaiserin Auguste. Caldwell and other passengers learnt tho news from the daily paper published aboard. Caldwell arrived in a state bordering on collapse.
