PROSECUTIONS IN THE SOUTH. P*oss .Association. INVERCARGILL, Dec. 22. Mr. McCarthy, S.M., yesterday fined two young men £3 and costs, one for procuring liquor at a brewery depot without giving his name also the name of the person for whom the liquor was intended, and the other for assisting to procure liquor, the same in on eh case l for ia, prohibited person. The former got two gallons of beer and signed tlic name of tlie latter, while the two assisted the prohibited person who supplied tlie money to drink the beer. Tlie prohibited accused did not appear. The police stated that he had left the district, land that a warrant had been issued for his arrest.
