The semi-final in tho double-sculls competition for Seymour’s trophies (Poverty Bay Club) were rowed last evening, when 11. Lowe and T • E. Porter (ssecs) boat .Mo Con noil Bros, after a. good race. An excellent race ensued between R. McGutlio and It. Thaxter (3sccs) and M . MoC.uihe and W. Barnes (scr). Owing tea mishap at the bridge to one of M . McGulhe s rowlocks, R. McGullie won as ho liked.
